Rubén Orihuela is a young man who has broken new ground. At only 11 years, had to face a long list of stereotypes that pigeonhole rhythmic gymnastics, as a purely female. Only perseverance, hard work and professionalism made this young Valencian could go ahead with his dream. However, it was not until 2009, when for the first time, able to participate in an official competition. A twenty-four, has already made history. It is a living legend and a benchmark for many other young people like him, dream practice officially. In fact, in his native Valencia and five, the guys who train in this discipline, making his home community in the area with more male participants in the last national championship. The other gymnasts, for a total of fifteen, came from the Canary Islands, Aragon, Andalusia, Galicia and Murcia. Orihuela said the male rhythm, will eventually have the same impact than female, but certainly for it to be adapted to the physical condition of man, so to be rated more physical strength and less flexibility, which are in disadvantage to the women. However, Ruben is clear that the greatest barrier, which even today has to overcome a male gymnast is called prejudice.

Starting with the family, usually reluctant to support your children practice this sport following the environment, school, friends, even today, having been recognized by judges and audience, Ruben remembers the taunts and rejection; ending with the difficulty in finding coaches, willing and able to train a child in this discipline. The truth is, he laid the first stone of a wall, we want to be with long time and solid. Do not forget, that there was a woman, who first used pants, and another wore a bikini, another who defended the vote ... Rubén Orihuela, called Billy Elliot Spanish, is a role model for all those who have a dream in their lives.
