I Need Traffic

So you started your blog, and filled with great content. You sit and wait for all flock to your website and read what you wrote. Right? Wrong. Unless you happen to be a well-known character and all are dying to know what you are saying, or say something incredibly outrageous or funny, nobody cares.

Some people have suggested trying to get noticed by search engines so you can get people to come to your site. I think it should be the other way. Getting people to come to your site and, finally, search engines will find you. It aims to involve people, not machines.

So here are some things you can try when you are first starting.

1. Send all your friends and tell them about your new website / blog. Let them come and visit, make comments, and submit your website address to a more certain of their friends. You can just add your blog address in the signature of your email.

2. Join a forum or group and start taking part in the discussions. Giving constructive feedback. Do not just say things like "please come and visit me." Eventually, people will come to recognize you and visit your blog to see what it is.

3. Visit the blogs of other people and leave comments. Make it relevant to their blog. The focus is on them, not you. There will be those who reciprocate and visit you.

4. Add links to blogs / sites you like. Owners may therefore want to swop links with you and put your link on their websites.

5. Enter the URL of your blog to search the directory so that people looking to blogs on a particular subject can be found.

6. Writing articles with useful information and submit them ezines. People with more interest in the topics you write about will come to visit your blog. Make sure you remember to write something in your author resource box that will attract people to click through your site. Offering a free gift helps, I'm told. I tried it and there was a slight increase in the number of people who clicked on my site. But the article had to be reasonably well received, for starters.

7. You can pay for your blog or website to be reviewed even though I have my doubts about how accurate the review will be. After all, if someone is going to pay me $ 100 for reviewing their website, I will be most likely to say something nice about them. Similarly, if I go to pay someone to say something about me, he'd better find something good to say and encourage people to come by my blog!

8. You can pay for pay-per-click ads, such as those offered by Google or Yahoo. In theory, it should be a reasonable cost, because you will be charged only when those who are interested click on an ad. The costs to try to get some words may raise the cost of this method however.

9. You can only pay a standard charge like $ 25 a month for someone to allow you to place your ad on their web sites.

Here! A complete list of ways to get people to come visit your site! ......
