Las Vegas Weather

Contrary to what some think, Las Vegas has four seasons time. Yes, the seasons are different from what happens in a state of the North, but still exist. Let's look at how they are.

Normal high temperatures in Las Vegas in the middle of winter, are about 55 degrees Farenheit. Normal daily minimum is around 35. Lows were recorded from 8 degrees. The temperatures in the 80s were recorded in March, winter was ending. Las Vegas is not a big snow storm in years, but in January 1979 Las Vegas received 9.9 inches of snow, and in January 1949 in Las Vegas has been hit with 16.7 inches! January and February tend to be more wet most of the months, but still well below the average of a millimeter of rain.

The normal high for Las Vegas in Spring starts around 70 degrees, the spring is ending and the high average is 100. Temperatures up to 116 were measured in late spring, which is only a degree short of the highest measured temperature in Las Vegas in the last 80 years. Spring is particularly dry in most years, less than one centimeter, average.falling in April, May and June together. Humidity is low, and funds in the month of June.

The normal high for the summer in Las Vegas is over 100, even if it falls below 100 after September 1. Increase the humidity in July and August, and the number of storms increases by about 3 per month for those two months. Lows in the 50s were measured in September, but the 80 is normal for July and August, dipping into the 70s to mid-September.

The temperatures in autumn decreases faster than increases in the spring. The average daily temperature is 99 on 1 September, by December 1 to 60. If someone tells you that swimming and sunbathing in Las Vegas in the fall was probably late fall. The levels of rainfall are lower than they were in January, February, July or August.

There are two weather phenomenon that can be potentially dangerous in Las Vegas (three if you consider the snow storms are rare but potentially disabling). One is the winds. The wind can occur at any time of year, and gusts in the 90s were recorded at home, open valley that Las Vegas is located inside the wind is rarely life threatening, but it is strong enough that you should consider when have fun outdoors here. The other, more serious problem, is flooding. Amount of rain that would not raise an eyebrow in many locations may cause flash floods in Las Vegas. Besides having a hard ground, which is not very absorbent, Las Vegas is a bowl-like valley surrounded by mountains. Water flows and accumulates in low lying areas. Pay attention to flash flood watches and warnings, and unless its an emergency stay off the streets during a flooding situation ....
