Tablets: The media revolution

No doubt the tablets have revolutionized modern technology. The tablets are basically some laptops that have a touch screen (touchscreen) and with many functions and utilities such as reading e-books, Web navigation, gaming, viewing videos and photos, to install thousands of applications, playing music and many more.

Calls tablets have entered the market with great force and Guatemala due to its multifunction, the trend is to replace most of the media.

One of the biggest benefits of the tablets is that they are "green" and being a great substitute for the various print media such as books, magazines, newspapers, journals, pamphlets, among others. The tablets have succeeded in reducing the above mentioned printing, saving millions of pages. Some futurists say that within 10 years there will be print media but all will be advanced through tablets, laptops and cell phones, as illustrated by a video CORNING company.

Another aspect is the tablets are revolutionizing advertising. The media tend to be mostly electronic. Unfortunately, in Guatemala there are still companies that believe it is necessary to even have a website, much less think of electronic advertising. So great is the revolution of the tablets, the majority of companies engaged in mobile technology have created their own version. The tablet best known in Guatemala is the iPad, created by one of the world's most innovative companies, Apple. The company Apple has released the second version of the pioneer iPad tablet which is available in Guatemala for several months and is the most popular at the moment.

Other tablets that have gained much market share are the Samsung Galaxy and the new Dell Tablet Duo.

One of the biggest attractions of the Galaxy is that Samsung has the Android 2.2 operating system, this allows the user to have a range of programs to install and download more customization. It weighs about 13 ounces, includes a micro SD card of 16 GB, option editable and e-mails and text messages, and one of the most important features and which causes many people to decide for this is that you have Microsoft Office .

The Dell Tablet Duo is a cross between a laptop and a tablet to the screen because you can turn and be used the way you want as you can see in the picture on the left.
