Sales Training - the balance between patience and assertiveness
To succeed in sales, you must find the balance between patience and assertiveness.
The sales success is the fine line between patience and assertiveness. I call this harassment beautiful positive line. Early in my career as a speaker, I was trying to find an office that I reserve for commitments speakers. I finally found a guy who was interested but did not move quite as fast as I wanted it too. This is when I came up with the concept of harassment positive. I do not call him every day because they did not want to bug him. I do not get cranky with him because he was not getting the bookings that I wanted. Those things could be defined as harassment. What I did was call him just enough so you knew I was around. I looked in front of him so I would be in his mind. You see, he needed me want to reserve for himself. I wanted to stay in eyeshot of him so you can see what was missing.
He liked what he saw and eventually hired me to work in his office. My job was to book myself as well as other speakers for the commitments. What I learned was invaluable. Eventually I went on my first book for myself and not like many other speakers. I decided it was more important for me to spend my time building my career as an orator. It 'was a big decision. But I'm grateful to this man for giving me the opportunity to learn under his mentor. He has helped launch my career in a positive way. So learn the balance between patience and assertiveness and the rocket will lift the success of your launch pad for new and greater heights .......
