If the worst happens and there is a robbery, you should have specific instructions for the treatment of robberies. Otherwise, the following suggestions may help:
Keep the robbery short, the time it takes the more nervous the robber becomes. Give them what they want.
Keep calm and handle any situation as if you were making a sale to a customer.
Let the robber know you intend to collaborate with them, just give them the money and goods they ask for and do exactly as they say. If you are not sure what the thief wants, ask.
Tell the robber in advance if you have to reach for something or move in any way to tell them if another employee is in the back room so they are not surprised.
Do not try to stop the thief. If you do not see a weapon, do not assume the thief has one.
Do not try to chase the thief, will end in violence and can confuse the police coming to the scene, you might think that you are the thief.
Dial 911 or your local emergency number once the robbery is over and everyone is safe .......
