2007 Business Ethics for Entrepreneurs
We hear much talk about issues of business ethics in the United States, yet our businessmen and women are just some of the most ethical professionals in the business world. The openness, integrity and responsibility in American business is not found anywhere else in the world. With all the hype, over-regulation, causes and forms of government, it would be difficult to call any American businessman immoral. Yet, we find that the mass hysteria the media, egged on by people who do not understand the business has cheated the positive opinion of American business ethics.
The truth of the matter is that ethics in business, military, sport, government or the nonprofit sector in the United States is a reflection of the overall media ethics in our human civilization. For someone to say that people are less ethical in business we say that the police, this would be a failure to meet adequately the reality of the situation.
Many people believe that our judicial system and lawyers are the highest ethical standards, but it just is not so. Even the folks at the government regulating the business community can draw from this same population base. This is why ethics in government are no better than those in business, perhaps the ethics of state are worse, because there is less control. Is this good or bad? It 's not fair.
For us to discuss business ethics properly we must be honest with ourselves, we can not simply label all businessmen as crooks, crooks and swindlers. Unfortunately it seems that many people in our society point the finger at the business community, when in fact you should look in their mirrors. In this book we will talk and contemplate the reality of human psychology and ethics, and look into the abuses of power in government, regulators and government as over-regulation to prevent crime in the business world is a self-fulfilling prophecy and criminals as we are doing and industrious men and women of our most brilliant entrepreneurs.
As a businessman and a Franchisor, have been critical of more regulation at all levels; Associations, City, County, State, federal and international level and in most cases government agencies, professional organizations and associations are used by companies to attack their competitors. In fact, that in itself is unethical and once again proves that you can not regulate morality and if you allow those who point the finger to aid in the abuse of power that will endanger the integrity of the intrinsic free-market between buyers and sellers. I hope you will enjoy this discussion and reflections on business ethics and thank you for reading this article, as it is one of my first on this topic. Maybe this topic is of interest to propel thought in 2007? ......
