Rules Group meeting Creates Results sweet
Last week we held a meeting of our new product development, aims to present new business ideas and discuss their viability. To raise the level of creativity in meetings, we like to add a theme to them. The theme of this meeting was chewing gum. I know, weird right? But believe me, once we have started with it, is blocked.
Before the day of our meeting, our graphic design department created and sent invitations to all our employees. These invitations are customized with rubber BizXcel called "The Gum of Business." The day of the meeting, we continued the theme with our rules for discussion. These rules should not only keep the meeting on track, but to make everyone feel comfortable with sharing their ideas in an open environment free from overt criticism. The rules were:
1. Chomp discussions openly and honestly.
The purpose of this rule was to ensure that we had full views and opinions of every person. If anyone thought that there might be a better way to do something, then we want to hear.
2. Give everyone a chance to chew their thoughts.
This rule has given everyone a chance to speak their minds and prevented any one person dominate the meeting.
3. Blow the lid off ideas.
We wanted people to think outside the box (or wrapper). This rule has caused people to think beyond the everyday.
4. Unwrap problems.
Do not want anyone leaving the meeting with thoughts or feelings that were not disclosed. This rule ensured that the issues have been discussed as possible before closing the meeting.
These rules led to our meeting very successful results. All were able to openly express themselves and their ideas. Creativity and innovation have been achieved through teamwork. Why not try implementing these rules in your next meeting? Are you sure you achieve sweet .......
